Who, ME? Ministry?

IS GOD CALLING YOU INTO MINISTRY?

Vocations-Fair-Poster-A5We know that as Christians we have already been called into full time ministry. In other words, every moment of our lives is intended for God's service. However, God may be calling you to explore a deeper dimension of that call. If so, why not take yourself along to a URC Vocation's fair?

Introduction

We have been running this course since 2008. Over 700 people have attended one of our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses. This 12 hour course is part of the national training programme for Wales and its partners include the Welsh Government, Health Challenge Wales and Mind Cymru.

What is MHFA?

Comparisons can be drawn between MHFA and emergency first aid. In both cases members of the public can offer immediate aid and support the person to get appropriate help. MHFA improves mental health literacy and helps people to recognise the signs and symptoms of someone with mental health problems; to

respond to various mental health crises, engage with, support and signpost people to appropriate professional help.

MHFA aims to help participants:

Ø  Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others.

Ø  Provide help to prevent a mental health problem developing into a more serious state.

Ø  Promote recovery of good mental health.

Ø  Provide comfort to a person experiencing mental health distress.
