New Elders for Welshpool

New Street United Church (URC & PCW) in the mid-Wales market town of Welshpool has two new Elders. Jill Deans and Ruth Henriksen were ordained at a communion service in the church on 24th March 2011 which was attended by representatives from both denominations and members of the New Street congregation. In his sermon, the Revd Colin Richards preached a charge to the new elders encouraging the qualities of humility and obedience to Christ as they took up this new ministry. The service was led by the minister of New Street, the Revd Dr Diane Stirling with the Revd Keith Forecast presiding at Communion.
